Wessex Business

by msecadm4921

Dorset-based Wessex Fire and Security reports that the first half of the year has seen the fire and security firm secure a series of new business contracts, as well as other developments.

The company, part of the Wessex Group, reports increased uptake of the company’s specialist services. It has secured a significant installation contract with three Marks and Spencers stores across the south east region and Wales, with branches in Bournemouth, Barnstaple and Swansea having their fire alarm systems upgraded.

Gillingham-based Dextra Lighting, manufacturers of lighting products, is in the process of having a new CCTV system installed at its site, including over 60 CCTV cameras and tracking software. Bournemouth Pier has had its fire alarm system upgraded and a CCTV system installed in the Showbar as part of refurbishment.

"The planned expansion in the first half of 2007 has exceeded our expectations and we have made the necessary measures to cope with the additional contracts secured," said Stuart Fisher, director and general manager of Wessex Fire and Security. "As a result of this extra demand for our services we have recruited a number of experienced engineers and support staff to ensure we continue to give the level of service our customers expect. We look forward to continued success for the remainder of the year."

Stuart Fisher has also been selected to give a key note speech at an industry event taking place at Bolton Football Club in September. Stuart will be speaking on the subject of ‘managing false alarms’ at the seminar organised by the UK’s national fire safety organisation, the Fire Protection Association (FPA). The event will feature other speakers from the likes of The Federation of British Fire Organisations (FOBFO), Royal & SunAlliance and Qequality.

"I’m delighted to be speaking at the FPA seminar in Bolton and hope to share with the attendees some practical, jargon-free advice for businesses regarding key fire and security issues." Wessex Fire and Security has its headquarters in Shaftesbury and employs over 60 staff.
