Flying glass can be a main cause of injury to those in a building that suffers from a blast. Building owners and managers therefore have a duty under their health and safety obligations to consider the risks. Selectaglaze has developed a range of window protection products, starting with low level blast or anti-bandit and building to higher levels requiring full certification. Selectaglaze reports that its products have been certified to offer a high level of hazard protection when tested to Class EXR1 of BS EN 13123 and to draft standard ISO 16933. Physical attack (LPS1175) requires products to resist sustained attack against a variety of tools. A selection of Selectaglazeโs products have achieved Security Rating 2, which must resist tools such as a claw hammer, screwdrivers, pipe wrench and a hand drill.
The firm is also certified by Secured by Design โ the police initiative supporting the principles of "designing out crime" by use of crime prevention and security standards for a range of applications,.
