Cifas date

The counter-fraud trade body Cifas is running its annual conference on Tuesday, June 13.

Aimed at professionals responsible for countering fraud and financial crime; this year the event is at 30 Euston Square in central London, home of the Royal College of General Practitioners. Confirmed speakers so far are:

– Lady Barbara Judge CBE

– Sara Thornton CBE QPM, Head of the National Police Chiefs’ Council

– Brian Dilley, Group Director of Fraud and Financial Crime Prevention, Lloyds Banking Group

– Richard Riley, Office for Security and Counter Terrorism, Home Office

– Neil Masters, National Lead for Fraud and Economic Cyber Crime, Victim Support

– Prof Martin Gill, Director of Perpetuity Research and Consultancy International

– Professor Mark Button, University of Portsmouth

– Tracey Carpenter, Internal Fraud Expert and Best Practice Manager at Cifas; and

– Sandra Peaston, Data and Analytics Expert and Assistant Director, Insight at Cifas.

Workshop sessions besides are to focus on using organisational culture to defend against internal fraud, and an holistic exploration of the true cost of fraud.
