Armed Forces Covenant

by Mark Rowe

WLTS, a recruitment company, has announced its signing of the Armed Forces Covenant. That’s the formal commitment to fair treatment for those who serve, or have served, in the UK armed forces.

The covenant supports serving personnel, service leavers, veterans, and their families. WLTS’s sister company the security contractor SSGC has also signed.

Since its launch in April, WLTS has provided access to nationwide job vacancies for service leavers, veterans and their families, enabling them to forge career paths in the security industry and beyond.

David Stubbs, CEO of WLTS Ltd is a former military officer. He said: “The signing of the covenant is an important step that formalises our commitment to helping the military community utilise their transferable skills and competencies in an effective way, regardless of trauma or disability they may have sustained post-service.

“Our leadership is primarily made up of veterans and we recognise the value that ex-service personnel can bring to any business. We are strongly committed to providing them with a supportive environment throughout their career and are proud to employ and actively support staff who have served in the armed forces.”

He is pictured with WLTS Managing Director Demelza Staples. She added: “The business can really help HR professionals in all industries get hold of a wide range of staff, including veterans across the country.

“The military community is known to have an excellent set of professional values and skills that are easily transferable to various other industries including hospitality and beyond and, with WLTS, we can easily place them in new roles that can kickstart their new careers.

“The signing of the AFC is a no-brainer and really bolsters our commitment to help this community embrace their professionalism in life after service.”
