Best small company award

by Mark Rowe

The lone worker protection service company SoloProtect was placed 85th in the ‘Sunday Times 100 Best Small Companies to work for 2016’ at an annual event, in London on February 24.

The Sheffield-based company, which manufactures the Identicom device for lone workers, entered for the first time last year. Identicom – a small, communications device that looks like a worker’s ID badge – is now used by upwards of 150,000 lone workers, the firm reports.

SoloProtect relocated to a new UK head office in Tinsley, north Sheffield in 2015. Part of the relocation saw the business invest in a purpose-built, EN50518 accredited, Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) to support customers.

Craig Swallow, pictured, Managing Director of SoloProtect UK said: “SoloProtect’s inclusion in the Sunday Times 100 list for the first time was genuinely exciting – and all down to our staff, and how engaged they are with what we’re doing in the business, and what we hope to do moving forward. I’d like to pay tribute to them and thank them for their efforts to date – and to ask that they continue to help us drive SoloProtect forward with the same dedication in 2016 and beyond.”
