Hologram awards

by Mark Rowe

A record number of entries have been received for this year’s commercial holography awards. Fifty entries will be considered for the Excellence in Holography Awards, as organised by the trade body the International Hologram Manufacturers Association (IHMA).

The award winners will be named at the Holography Conference, on November 16 and 17 in Barcelona. IHMA chairman Manoj Kochar, pictured, said that it was encouraging that more entries than ever before had been received, as the industry gears up to mark 70 years of holography.

He said: “All the hard work and effort to maximise nominations has paid off, while innovation and technical progress have driven companies to put their technologies forward for the highest industry recognition. It’s fitting that in our 70th anniversary year, we’ve had a record number of nominations. So, it’s top marks to IHMA members for putting their work forward and their continuing commitment to see industry-wide excellence. There really are some outstanding nominations, so the judges will have their work cut out.”

A panel from the IHMA board will be judging entries. The categories cover Holographic Technology, Origination, Display or Emerging Technology Applications and Applied Security, Decorative and Packaging Products.

The annual Brian Monaghan Award for Business Innovation, given at the discretion of the Board, will also be presented to mark industry achievement and contribution. More at www.theholographyconference.com.
