Lodge goes Continental

by Mark Rowe

The UK security contractor Lodge Service has extended its intelligence network – Lodg:IC – into mainland Europe for central monitoring, control and planning of security and property services.

The contract firm does work for the AIM-listed Serviced Office Group, and high street retailer Wilkinsons.

Simon Chapman, managing director of Lodge Service, says: “The 24-7 monitoring of web-enabled applications provides the basis for immediate cost savings across user organisations in Europe from the UK, with the benefit of rapid response to alarmed events and other incidents. We’re working with UK clients across Europe and now have security staff in Germany, Austria and Eastern Europe. The Lodg:IC network offers businesses strategic control through centralised management of security, power and other buildings’ resources, as well as of staff and vehicles.”

Remote monitoring for managing premises, staff and vehicle fleets is combined with on-site security guarding, investigations, screening and other personnel services. According to the contractor, almost any system or service that is web-enabled can be supported. Alerts can go to a smartphone, tablet or other device. Services and signals monitored through the hub includes: CCTV, staff time and attendance, vehicle tracking, access control, fire and intruder alarms, lone workers, building management and environmental and waste management systems, data mining, networked distribution centres, trolley track and EAS tagging.

The centre connects through such platforms as – for alarms, WebWayOne, BT Redcare, and CSL Dualcom to Sur-gard Receivers. CCTV connections are supported via Immix, Sureview International. Compatible devices are under continual review based on client specifications the firm adds.

Founded in 1919, Lodge Service has some 800 UK staff and local offices and franchise operations in another eight countries. It claims it’s the largest family business in the security sector.
