NBCS date

by Mark Rowe

The National Business Crime Solution (NBCS), the not for profit initiative for the sharing of data between law enforcement and businesses to reduce crime, is holding a second Members’ Day on Wednesday, March 21. The event at Trent Vineyard, Nottingham follows its first Members’ Day in January.

The theme of the day is ‘Managing Current Business Crime Risks’. Presentations from NBCS, Asda, Athelney, Mitie, training company Maybo, Pyronix and Sainsbury’s will identify current, emerging and potential threats as well as offer updates on techniques and projects that have proved valuable against crime.

Over 100 delegates from business, security providers, technology providers and police business crime leads are expected to gather. Also planned is a ‘Burglary Roundtable’, which follows an increase in burglaries as reported by several NBCS members. The aim there; to address the trends and any gaps in the market, whether there are any hotspots and/or commodities that are being targeted and what mitigation strategies have been tried – sharing best practice on what has or has not worked.

NBCS MD Daniel Hardy was delighted with the response to the first Members’ Day and says that he is relishing the upcoming event. Dan, pictured, said: ‘NBCS members comprise some of the UK’s largest companies and, as everyone’s time is precious these days, facilitating associate member suppliers and member end user conversations based on current business risks allows NBCS to offer real value, promoting thought leadership, whilst supporting preventative change opportunities.’
