Video engine

by Mark Rowe

Automatic number plate recognition from Aimetis offers a range of vehicle management options.

Aimetis VE410 Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR) is available as a video engine within the Aimetis Symphony video managment software (VMS) and analytics. Configured within the Symphony user-interface, it offers a way of detecting and indexing car number plates. The ALPR is for vehicle access control use, where barriers are lifted (or closed) on recognition of vehicle’s number plate from a white or black list; traffic control and enforcement applications; toll collection points; border crossings; and as a marketing tool where patterns of vehicle use are logged.
The product works for analogue or network cameras. Plates and their corresponding images are stored for reference and later searching. A range of actions and alarm scenarios can be triggered on recognition of a listed plate. Features include detection in multiple lanes of traffic, stationary or moving; recognition of plates from different regions and countries; video search by number plate; white and black list support and software configuration within Aimetis Symphony.
