Access Control

Higher Education Expo

by Mark Rowe

ASSA ABLOY Access Control with Gallagher Security are presenting an integrated approach to access control at Higher Education Expo. Held at London Olympia on October 17, ASSA ABLOY Access Control and Gallagher are on stand 41, showing the latest integrated access control systems and new product releases.

On display will be the Aperio wireless locking solution, which is ASSA say designed to upgrade mechanically locked doors and wirelessly connect them online or offline to new or existing access control systems, with it’s claimed minimal modification to doors and premises.

Visitors to the ASSA ABLOY and Gallagher stand will be able to experience the cylinder and escutcheon variants in the Aperio range, alongside the new L100 platform, which presents a wireless lock range for security doors with monitoring capability.

Also on show, the Aperio PINpad escutcheon presents access control for doors requiring multiple authentication, offering users the opportunity to enter a PIN of four to eight characters, or use a card reader, or a combination of both.

Says Damian Marsh, Managing Director for ASSA ABLOY Access Control: “By working together with Gallagher and showcasing our successful integration using such innovative wireless technologies as Aperio™, we can demonstrate a simple and effective option for universities to upgrade to access control. At each works programme, we have learnt a little bit more about the higher education market and we have put together a series of white papers, which by no means suggests we have all the answers, but provides a platform to engage in discussions. We are really looking forward to Higher Education Expo to share our understandings and to discuss the issues faced by the sector in even more detail.”
