Sensormatic anniversary

Tyco Retail Solutions (www.tycoretailsolutions.com) reprots the 50th anniversary of its Sensormatic brand. The company’s first anti-theft pedestals and tags were according to the company disruptive technologies to an industry that relied on physical security for merchandise protection. Tyco’s patented technology has more than 1,600 patents issued and 700 applications pending worldwide.

Sensormatic’s Acousto-Magnetic (AM) technology offered shoplifting protection for wider or multiple exits, maximising customer flow and effectively safeguarding merchandise. Sensormatic brought the world’s first EAS Source Tagging. Tyco points to the largest source tagging in the industry with nearly 60 billion consumer and apparel items protected.
