CCTV tower launch at IFSEC

by Mark Rowe

The RedCop rapid deployment CCTV tower is launched at IFSEC 2014, stand A250.

RedCop is a trailer-mounted, rapid deployment, CCTV tower made in the UK by Redvision CCTV. It can provide surveillance for remote sites such as temporary or semi-permanent. Its PTZ and fixed cameras can alert operators to intrusion. It will run for 72 hours without external power. The product comprises an X-Series Dual-Light dome camera mounted on top of a 6m telescopic tower. Four static, 2MP IP cameras provide continuous site coverage and Genesis wireless passive infra-red (PIR) detectors from Luminite sense site movement. Audio allows operators to speak with with site visitors and warn off intruders. The Dual-Light PTZ provides close-up, high-quality video images of incidents, using its zoom functionality. Infra-red and white-light illumination enables night time operation, with full scene illumination at up to 100m and facial recognition at 40m, it is claimed. In white-light mode, the product can spotlight and track intruders, as a crime deterrent.

Hired weekly, the product is delivered to site and set up within minutes, it is claimed. It can be moved into position by one person and the telescopic tower is extended horizontally, before being raised by hydraulic ram. The battery powered PIR detectors can be tower-mounted or positioned around the site. Its trailer wheels can also be removed as an anti-vandal measure. RedCop uses 3G, wireless communications and is monitored using the IMMIX control software.
