Hanwha Techwin has launched three NDAA compliant explosion-proof camera models: TNU-6322E, TNU-6322ER, pictured; and TNO-6322ER. They are designed to operate safely even in industrial areas with highly volatile atmospheres. The intrinsically safe cameras are contained within IECEx and ATEX certified stainless steel housings, which can prevent any sparks generated by the camera escaping the device and igniting gases or other ignition sources around.
TNU-6322E/6322ER models feature 360 degree endless panning and 180 degree tilting, and, with 32x (4.44 ~ 142.6mm) optical zoom lenses, these cameras will reach into every corner of a large industrial site, the makers say.
The products come with 2MP (megapixel) resolution for image capture. Hanwha’s Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) improves images in scenes with a challenging mix of dark and bright areas by compensating differences in brightness.
For external installations a de-fog function ensures images in all weathers, while the infra-red (IR) illuminator in the TNO-6322ER and TNU-6322ER models allows night-time surveillance at a distance of up to 200m. There is also a gyro sensor, to reduce the motion blur caused by vibration, for stable images even in the most challenging places, the firm says.
Embedded WiseStreamII compression reduces data size, while maintaining optimum image quality, thereby minimising bandwidth, the developers add. The cameras are IP67 certified water and dust resistant and IK10 certified vandal-proof.
Uri Guterman, Head of Product & Marketing for Hanwha Techwin Europe, said: “The new launch completes our explosion-proof camera line-up. It ensures robust surveillance of all hazardous environments that could be susceptible to explosions triggered by electrical interference.”
