The most compact camera from Dallmeier, the Picodome, now comes in 720p HD resolution. The German makers point to the dome’s small size and elegant design, and performance capability. The Picodome DDF4220HDV provides real-time HD video (720p/30) using the H.264 codec for video compression, and supports resolutions up to 1.3 megapixel. Besides HD video over IP, the hybrid provides for a simultaneous analogue SD (PAL/NTSC) video output via BNC (CVBS).
The dome’s Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) allows to capture images with highest colour fidelity and detail reproduction even in scenes with a wide range of contrast and strong backlighting, the makers say. The low-light performance also provides for clear and low noise images even in low light it is claimed.
Besides a set of automatic and manual image optimisation functions, the camera features other setting options. For the alignment of the lens/camera unit, the HD Picodome comes with a PPL ball joint (Push, Point and Lock). At a resolution of 720p, the Digital Image Shift function additionally provides for a subsequent digital fine alignment of the image section.
Depending on requirements, the camera can be supplied with 12V DC or operated via Power over Ethernet for effective cabling and commissioning.
The vandal-resistant (IK10) HD Picodome is available as in-ceiling mount variant or as surface mount variant in an IP66 rated enclosure. A range of designs are available on request.
