IP transmission

AMG, the manufacturer of CCTV transmission solutions and 5 Megapixel cameras, has added to its ‘Skywave’ family of Digital IP transmission systems.

The Skywave II Backhaul is adapted for transmitting video and telemetry in the 7-38 GHz and 80 GHz licensed bands and is ideal for connecting remote LANs in distant buildings up to 140 Km at speeds of up to 2.5 Gbps. Compact, this range is designed with long distance wireless transmission in mind, the UK firm says.

Sara Bullock, Sales Director at AMG Systems, says: “The 80 GHz Skywave II Backhaul link is a weatherproof, next generation digital IP Microwave radio operating in the E-Band. With up to 2.5 Gbps net throughput and up to 5 Km range, the AMG Skywave II 80 GHz Backhaul is the ideal solution for ultra-high capacity wireless links in urban environments for all carrier-class applications such as mobile backhaul, enterprise and ISP.

“The Skywave II Backhaul is also available in licensed frequencies between 7 and 38 GHz. This version is also a Full Outdoor, Full IP, next generation Microwave Radio. It can be fully integrated with 3G, 4G and LTE nodes, and is an excellent choice for a fast and flexible evolution towards full IP networks with the highest radio capacity and performance.”

The Backhaul range is compatible with the firm’s Skywave II 5 GHz product portfolio, offering a wireless solution in terms of scalability and future-proofing. Typical applications according to the company include relocation of control room facilities without the need to install cabled infrastructure, and transmission of high-resolution IP cameras in complex wide-areas, even country-wide, CCTV and security system deployments.
