North development

by Mark Rowe

At the distributor Oprema, Ashley Cardno has become the new Business Development Manager for the North of England. Ashley, pictured, has over 20 years’ experience in the security industry.

Before joining Oprema he was Divisional Director at another distributor, HBL Security. Ashley started his career at Intervision Ultrak and has held roles at Norbain, Avigilon and Mirasys, and for ten years was at Panasonic, where he was Distribution Manager for their security solutions products.

Ashley said: “During my 20 years in the security industry, I have worked closely with many integrators and manufacturers and I’m now pleased to bring these relationships with me to Oprema. I have worked in both distribution and manufacturing myself previously, so I understand the relationship between the two which will certainly help when it comes to introducing new partner brands. Oprema already stocks a wide range of products, and this increasing breadth of brands will allow me to work collaboratively with customers to find the best possible solution for their requirements. It’s great to have joined Oprema at such an exciting time of growth for the company and I’m looking forward to being part of the company’s future success.”

And Gareth Williams, Sales Director at Oprema, says: “We’re very pleased to welcome Ashley to our sales team. His strong relationships with key integrators and manufacturers – and experience in the security industry – are a fantastic addition to the Oprema team and of great value to our customers. Ashley’s approach is consultative, which is very much aligned to Oprema’s approach to customers and partners. Ashely is joining the company at a very exciting time, and we’re all looking forward to working with him to further strengthen the end-to-end support we offer our customers.”
