Dallmeier electronic are among the exhibitors at the Smart City Expo World Congress 2022 in Barcelona. The video surveillance systems based on the manufacturer’s patented Panomera multifocal sensor cameras are already in use in more than 35 major German cities and other metropolises.
Dallmeier electronic will have its own stand at this year’s Congress from November 15 to 17. In Hall P2, the company from Regensburg, will show its solutions for ‘Safe City’ applications.
The focus of the trade fair presentation is on covering large urban areas with a fraction of the camera systems required compared to conventional solutions, the German firm says. For example, when using camera systems with multifocal sensors, cities need up to 80 per cent fewer systems than comparable solutions with classic megapixel cameras, depending on the requirements. For the operators of urban video security solutions, this means the firm adds improved situational awareness with lower personnel costs at the same time.
Due to the large coverage per camera, the technology offers low total cost of ownership through combined savings in infrastructure, implementation and operation. In Frankfurt, for example, the police monitor an area of almost 17,000 sqm with only 14 Panomera cameras, with a minimum resolution density of 250 pixels per metre (px/m, image quality ‘Identify’ according to DIN EN 62676-4).
Another issue in video surveillance for cities is data protection. In addition to numerous technical features to comply with the ‘Privacy by Design’ guidelines of the GDPR, in some countries the legislator already requires a highly visible deactivation of video surveillance in public places. At the event in Barcelona, Dallmeier will be showing the ‘Panomera Privacy Shield’ for this purpose, a remote-controlled ‘privacy blind’ that can be used to cover video systems in public places remotely.
Two other topics are becoming ever more important for cities, the company says: cyber security and ethical responsibility in investment decisions. Interested decision-makers in Barcelona have the opportunity to talk to Dallmeier about these challenges and learn how they can implement ethically sustainable and cyber-secure video security with products and solutions ‘Made in Europe’.
