EEMA, the independent not for profit think tank covering identification, authentication, privacy, risk management, cyber security, the Internet of Things and mobile applications, has joined the European Cyber Security Organisation (ECSO).

ECSO is a fully self-financed non-for-profit organisation under the Belgian law, established in June 2016. It represents the industry-led contractual counterpart to the European Commission for the implementation of the Cyber Security contractual Public-Private Partnership (cPPP). Members are from large companies, SMEs and start-ups, research centres, universities, end-users, operators, clusters and associations besides European Union member states’ local, regional and national administrations, countries part of the European Economic Area (EEA) and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) and H2020 associated countries.

Chair of EEMA, Jon Shamah, says: “For more than 30 years, EEMA has been bringing together public and private organisations, governments and academics, throughout the EU and wider Europe, to address the ever-evolving challenges relating to cyber security. Our membership of ECSO represents a new and important opportunity to further support, inform and educate our members.”

On November 14 and 15, EEMA will be hosting its 19th annual ISSE (Information Security Solutions Europe) conference and exhibition with Deloitte in Belgium. The title for 2017 is ‘The Future of Digital Security & Trust’. The event will include more than 40 presentations and seminars on the latest in information security, with emphasis on European directions and regulations. To register visit: www.isse.eu.com.
