The contractor Axis Security reports that it has achieved the highest SIA Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS) score in its history, increasing by seven points to reach 171 out of a possible maximum of 174.
The score of 171 is one of the highest ever attained by a manned guarding company, Axis adds. In 2009, when the senior management team re-launched the Axis Security business, it had an ACS score of 46. By 2013 it had increased by more than 100 points to 164. The score places Axis Security securely within the top 5pc of approved contractors, and it believes the top 1pc in the country.
Chris Wisely, Managing Director of Axis Security, says that the business continually looks for improvement. This is a statement recognised in the ACS report, which said: ‘the company was continually striving to improve and this was evident at all levels of the organisation throughout the assessment process both during interview and review of processes, procedures and systems. Improvements are evidence based and technology is being researched and introduced to improve efficiency and effectiveness of processes. Axis recognises its people as being key to its success and its approach to training and development is noteworthy.’
Chris Wisely, pictured, adds: “Such positive conclusions made by an independent body area always encouraging, but they are especially encouraging when year after year we make strides to achieving a maximum total. We know there is more work to be done but all of our efforts are focused on making things better for our employees and better for our customers.”
