A Cloud application auditing and security company, SaaSID, has announced that its Cloud Application Manager software is now available from the Apple iTunes App Store. The product is a browser plug-in that enables Single Sign On (SSO) and allows information security people to manage and audit the use of corporate applications that are accessed over a browser. According to the company this addresses the security and compliance issues created by the use of personal computing devices in the enterprise.
Cloud Application Manager’s inclusion in the Apple App Store will facilitate corporate applications being made accessible to iOS devices, in line with BYOD strategies, without compromising corporate governance and compliance.
An analyst firm, Forrester, recently surveyed almost 10,000 information workers worldwide and found that 21 per cent were already using at least one Apple device for work purposes. CIOs need to extend corporate security to these devices to regain visibility of corporate data access and maintain compliance.
The Apple iTunes App Store download enables SSO and audit on iOS devices for SaaSID Cloud Application Manager customers. The download is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, 4th generation iPod Touch and iPad and devices running iOS 5.1 or later.
