Phybridge, a Canadian Ethernet transmission product company, has entered into an agreement to buy NVT, the IP and PoE transmission product firm.
John Croce, CEO of Phybridge, said: “Phybridge’s innovative solutions will allow NVT to continue its existing dominance of the analogue video transmission market and extend its market penetration into the IP world.”
Phybridge’s products allow PoE and Ethernet over new, or legacy coax and UTP cable. Its switches enable system migration from traditional CCTV and telephone systems, to IP-based technology. Founder and President, Oliver Emmanuel, said: “Phybridge is bringing its pioneering long reach Ethernet technology into the security market, which will allow NVT’s customers to move to IP with absolute confidence.”
Phybridge adds that it was the first company to introduce switch technology that delivers Ethernet and PoE over a single pair of wires, with four times the transmission distance of traditional Ethernet. With over 400,000 global users, Phybridge switches are specified and deployed by companies including Cisco, Avaya and Mitel. The firm has headquarters in Toronto; and stocking, sales and support locations in Menlo Park, California; and Sunbury-on-Thames.
