The electronic security product distributor Norbain and Intransa have joined forces to offer customers access to security applications such as video. Intransa delivers server, storage and application platforms.

The partnership will extend the reach of Intransa’s open platform server, storage and appliances to the European market.  Intransa says that its video-optimised platforms are built for the demands of video security and are integrated with its security-oriented services for local installations and use in cloud deployments.

Bud Broomhead, CEO, Intransa, said: “Our European expansion is in direct response to the accelerated demand for open, IP-based security products around the globe. The security industry is changing quickly due to the flexibility of IP, and customers are increasingly looking to companies that have easy-to-use, reliable platforms. Our flexible products enable customers to install security platforms that are scalable and competitively priced.”

Suitable for individual deployments or as a scalable, cloud-based infrastructure, Intransa platforms deliver high definition (HD) video optimised servers and storage. Intransa says that its platforms can be used for single project security deployments with a few IP cameras and a few days of recording, yet can scale up to meet the big data needs of projects with hundreds or thousands of cameras and months to years of video recording capacity.

Andrew Pigram, technical director at Norbain, said: “Intransa has a strong track record of delivering video optimised server and storage platforms for the IP video surveillance market. Their server, storage and appliance platforms allow us to capture new market opportunities and launching its IP product portfolio into Europe is a key part of that strategy.”

Intransa platforms include Intransa’s GroundCrew Phone-home Warranty and companion Intransa CoPilot 24-Hour Customer Support, plus optional Intransa Pilot Proactive Monitoring.
