IP appliance

by msecadm4921

The IPS 2400 is decribed by its German manufacturers Dallmeier as a VideoIP appliance with integrated storage. With the dedicated and preloaded software SMAVIA Recording Server it is the makers say suited for all applications which require a high recording speed, storage capacity and low power consumption while providing security.

The IPS 2400 is a server hardware with Multi-Core CPU, suitable for up to 24 IP video channels (SD-IP, HD-IP, megapixel). The storage consists of eight 3.5-inch HDDs. Due to the “EasyChange“ function, hard disk drives can be changed from the front side of the device in case of an HDD failure (hot-swap in connection with RAID 5/6).

The makers point to the IPS 2400’s space-saving design besides low power consumption and low heat emission. It can be installed in a 19-inch rack using the included 19-inch bracket.

The preloaded SMAVIA Recording Server Software supports standard resolutions as well as Full-HD (up to 1080p) and up to 8 megapixels. RTSP and ONVIF compliant cameras can be configured and recorded with SMAVIA. The connection to an Active Directory user administration is possible via the LDAP protocol. A user can evaluate live and recorded images either with the SMAVIA Viewing Client (one access license, the so-called “basic license”, is already included) or with SeMSy via Ethernet (LAN/WAN). PRemote-HD, a method developed by Dallmeier that enables the transmission of HDTV streams even at low bandwidths, is supported in real time.
