Bahrain aviation MoU

Morpho (Safran) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) for cooperation in the field of aviation security. The agreement was signed by the Chairman and CEO of Morpho, Jean-Paul Jainksy, and Waleed Fakhro, Manager – Aviation Marketing of BAC on Tuesday, June 18.

The MoU establishes the framework of a two-phase project involving Morpho’s participation in the 2014 Bahrain Air Show and the operational testing and evaluation of MorphoPASS by Bahrain Airport Company. Under the terms of the agreement, Morpho will participate in the 2014 Bahrain Air Show where the company will showcase.

The second phase of the project involves the deployment of a six-month pilot for the operational testing and evaluation of MorphoPASS, Morpho’s integrated airport checkpoint concept, at Bahrain International Airport.

MorphoPASS is described by the French firm as an “all in one” solution for passenger processing.

Mohamed Yousif Al Binfalah, CEO of Bahrain Airport Company, said: “Bahrain Airport Company is proud to work closely with Morpho to demonstrate their latest aviation security solution MorphoPASS at Bahrain International Airport. This pilot project demonstrates our commitment to consider leading edge security solutions that can further the safety and security measures at Bahrain International Airport. We are also happy to see that MorphoPASS will be showcased through the highly anticipated 2014 Bahrain Airshow which will be held next January.”

And Jean-Paul Jainsky, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Morpho, said: “We are honoured by this opportunity to collaborate with Bahrain transport authorities in heightening security and facilitation at Bahrain International Airport. After unveiling MorphoPass at the Paris Air Show, we are particularly proud to announce this first trial of the solution.”
