IFSEC Istanbul, organised by UBM Live, has closed its doors for 2013 after a launch event on September 30 to October 2. The inaugural IFSEC Istanbul welcomed more than 2,000 visitors from across southeastern Europe, central Asia and the Middle East at the Lufti Kirdar Convention and Exhibition Centre, Istanbul, Turkey. More than 57 countries were represented and the exhibition attracted high level security professionals with buying power in excess of $10million.

More than 60 per cent of exhibitors have already committed to the next edition of the exhibition when it returns in spring 2015. Ray Wilsenach, General Manager, NEMTEK said: “IFSEC Istanbul has been really good, we’re really pleased with the quality of visitors as we’ve seen lots of high level, international buyers. It’s a smaller version of IFSEC International in the UK for us, attracting a truly international market. IFSEC as a whole is a very strong brand, which is why we exhibit at IFSEC Istanbul, IFSEC International, IFSEC & OSH Arabia, IFSEC India, IFSEC Southeast Asia and IFSEC South Africa.”

IFSEC Istanbul brought the security buying chain together under one roof, with manufacturers, channel partners and security people from government and private sectors converging to create networking and business development opportunities. Visitors were also able to get hands-on with the latest product developments from across the whole region. Belal Sayeen, Business Development, SFFECO said: “IFSEC Istanbul has enabled us to show the latest innovations to the industry. We’ve met a lot of international visitors, and the event has been a good opportunity to introduce new technology.”

Taking place alongside the exhibition, the IFSEC Istanbul Conference saw sessions presented from Frost & Sullivan, GESIDER, UKTI and others. The IFSEC Istanbul Confex 2014 will run on May 22 and 23, 2014 at the WOW Convention Centre. Kerim Bertrand, General Manager, UBM Istanbul, said: “We have had an overwhelming response to IFSEC Istanbul and have been thrilled at the positivity received from the industry. We strive to create an arena that brings together all elements of the buying chain so business can be conducted effectively in one place. I’d like to thank all of our partners and supporters for taking part in this inaugural event and contributing to its huge success. We look forward to sharing further details about the IFSEC Istanbul Confex 2014 and IFSEC Istanbul Exhibition 2015 very soon!”
