Raytec in Australia

by Mark Rowe

The UK CCTV lighting manufacturer Raytec has opened a new sales office in Melbourne, Australia, after what the firm calls a year of significant growth and success in the region.

The new office serving Raytec customers in Australia and New Zealand is headed by Amy Quinn, pictured, Raytec Business Development Manager ANZ. Previously a Regional Sales Manager based in Raytec’s UK head offices in Northumberland, Amy has headed the growth of Raytec LED lighting in the security market for the Asia/Pacific region over the last five years, leading a number of high security, industrial and critical infra-structure projects.

Most recently, Amy led a LED lighting upgrade which significantly increased productivity for the world’s biggest bauxite mine in Western Australia. New long life, zero maintenance Raytec LED illuminators were able to outperform and withstand the conditions at the mine including vibration, dust, heat, heavy rain, and long running times; compared to other illuminators which typically broke down after two or three months.

Raytec says this new move allows it to deliver local sales and technical support on and off site, and educate customers on products, to help them maximise their opportunities with LED lighting.

Amy says: “Raytec are committed to providing our customers in Australia and New Zealand with the highest levels of support from lighting design to post-sales support, and our new sales office allows us to do this at a local level. There is a huge demand for Raytec products from this region, not only for CCTV and security but also for several vertical markets such as hazardous area lighting. My intention is to help Raytec partners fully service those opportunities”.

Raytec also has staff in the UK, North America, Germany and China.
