Upgraded Pelco camera line

by Mark Rowe

Pelco by Schneider Electric has upgraded its Sarix Professional camera line.

With resolutions of 1.2MP to 5MP, the Sarix cameras deliver high-resolution images while providing video coverage of larger areas with a single camera. Sarix’s zoom capability allows operators to see detailed scenes, the makers say. For confined spaces Pelco offers the new Vandal Wedge Dome and Micro Dome cameras. Either model can be used in elevators where users require a small, unobtrusive camera with a fixed lens for close-up viewing. The new line provides clearer views in dim or no light. In models that include infra-red Illumination, the new Adaptive IR feature dynamically optimises exposure settings to capture more details. When subjects come close to the camera, the exposure compensates to prevent washout, resulting in more actionable video in areas of reduced lighting.

A modular design gives more inventory flexibility for dealers and installers to mix-and-match components for an extensive range of applications. Both indoor and environmental domes come with an IK10 vandal-resistant surface mount.

Sarix Professional’s power options have been expanded, and all outdoor cameras have been upgraded to be dust-tight and protected against strong jets of water and rainfall, to ensure continued operation in extreme conditions. And the operating temperature has been expanded for high-temperature applications.

Doug Ringer, Senior Product Manager, Pelco by Schneider Electric, said: “Pelco has long been know for the superior quality of our video surveillance solutions, and the updates we’ve made to our Sarix Professional camera line deliver users with increased video capture functionality and image clarity. Sarix Professional’s extensive benefits, combined with excellent video quality at a competitive price, make it the definitive camera for a wide variety of security environments.”
