Card Controller

by msecadm4921

Nortech Control Systems introduced the CRC200 card reader controller at IFSEC.

This two card reader controller can be specified as a stand-alone unit for the direct wiring of two readers; using Norpass-2I software it can be connected to a PC for online use; or it can be used with the MemoryStick which plugs in for downloading all transactions to a PC. The MemoryStick was developed to meet the requirements of a new security project for a UK high street retailer. It has been successfully trialled and is being rolled out through more than 250 stores over the next two years, the manufacturer reports. Nortech says its handheld MemoryStick makes the bridge between stand-alone and online systems by providing a method for transferring large amounts of access control data from the central PC to all the card reader controllers without the need for expensive cabling. When used with the CRC200 controller, the MemoryStick can be used in several ways, including: transaction history can be automatically downloaded onto the MemoryStick and then viewed and saved onto the PC based access control software at leisure; card holder update can be automatically downloaded from the central PC onto the MemoryStick and then uploaded onto the local card reader controllers; full system configuration changes can be uploaded to the card reader controller by plugging in a MemoryStick.; the MemoryStick can be used with several card reader controllers transferring data around the system as required.
