by msecadm4921

LEGIC Identsystems Ltd, suppliers of contactless smart cards, has appointed Fela Management AG a licence partner.

As part of the FELA group, founded in 1967, the Fela Management AG in Diessenhofen, Switzerland, is a manufacturer of electronic components and traffic telematic systems in the three important markets of toll collection, locating, and traffic management technology and services. From 1 January 2001, an electronically collected, distance-dependent road toll for trucks of 3.5 t or more was started in Switzerland – the heavy vehicle fee (HVF). Fela Management AG is the developer and supplier of the toll collection unit employed for this purpose.

As new LEGIC licence partner, Fela Management AG will have access to LEGIC’s contactless smart cards, the companies add, enabling Fela to offer customers a LEGIC based ticketing system for public traffic use: The Easy Drive/touch2ride ticketing system.

What they say

Dr Jürg Uhlmann, a member of Fela Management AG, said: "The contactless smart card technology of LEGIC is already very widespread in our target markets and enjoys a justifiably strong reputation. Now, as an official LEGIC licence partner, we will be able to offer flexible ticketing solutions that are perfectly configured to our customers’ needs."

Stephen Neff, Vice President Sales & Marketing of LEGIC Identsystems Ltd, says: "Fela Management AG enjoys a well-deserved reputation for quality excellence in the development of intelligent traffic solutions for a variety of applications. We are therefore very pleased they have decided to join with us and become a LEGIC licence partner."
