CCTV Survey

by msecadm4921

Public Area CCTV at the present time is currently facing the most difficult challenges since Prime Minister John Major ‘kicked off’ the growth of public area CCTV with his CCTV challenge funding to local authorities in 1994. So says the CCTV User Group which has brought out a public opinion survey of what people say they think about and want of CCTV.

For instance on numbers of cameras, the User Group points out that despite the press and the general media frequently quoting the totally fallacious figure of 4.5m cameras, 48pc of people surveyed believe there are the right amount and 28pc that in fact there are too few. A significant majority therefore (76pc) are either happy with the current level or would like more.
