A Bristol fly-tipper was found guilty in court on August 24 of dumping two tonnes of carpet and carrying waste without a license.
The man from Withywood was ordered by magistrates to pay £700 costs and sentenced to:
* a 12 week community order with electronic tagging and a curfew between 6pm and 6 am; and
* an 18 month driving ban.
The case was led by Bristol City Council streetscene officers who investigated the fly-tipping which took place behind the shops at Brislington Hill and Fanshawe Road.
Guy Poultney, Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods said, "Dumping rubbish can ruin an area and there is no excuse for it. It’s vital that our officers are tracking it down. This was great work by the neighbourhood team."
