The latest graduates from the master’s degree in Business Continuity, Security and Emergency Management have graduated from Buckinghamshire New University. Pictured are the graduates and lecturers from the master’s degree at Bucks New.
The graduates received their certificates alongside 1,700 graduates and honorary graduates during graduation ceremonies held at the Wycombe Swan Theatre, in High Wycombe, where the uni is based.
Course leader Phil Wood MBE is pictured second from right. He said: “We are exceedingly proud to see our students graduating from the MSc in Business Continuity, Security and Emergency Management. It has been a real challenge over the last 18 months of study but we have every confidence that the knowledge and skills that this cohort have acquired will prove to be invaluable as they return and apply their expertise to their respective organisations.”
The course comprises three modules designed the uni says to provide opportunities to apply current theories, concepts and practices to organisations’ business continuity and emergency management.
Phil Wood added: “Recognising the range of businesses that need to plan for resilience, the programme is sufficiently flexible to meet individual roles and responsibilities. For the resilience professional, who wishes to take an analytical and innovative approach to an area of business activity which is rapidly growing in importance, this programme is unique.
“Bucks New University’s Department of Security and Resilience produces graduates who are able to develop and test theories and plans which will be directly linked to their area of interest or organisational needs, and thus provides relevance and a solid academic basis for further development, research or career progression. We extend our warmest congratulations to our newly qualified alumni.”
This year’s graduates were Adam Jones, a risk and security consultant; Stephen Massey, an IT business continuity consultant; Abiola Sulaiman; a security manager; Bill Stables, of the Ministry of Defence; Les Krause-Whiteing, an IT business continuity consultant; Jim Westlake, a scheme manager for electronic security; and security manager, Matt Wright.
