Peter Finch is the winner of this year’s Imbert Prize.
As one of a first generation of healthcare security managers Peter Finch was one of a group that broke new ground in the security profession, dealing with unforeseen threats and subsequently developing risk management processes and tactical responses. So the Association of Security Consultants (ASC) annual lunch at the RAF Club in central London heard when Lord Imbert presented the award in his name.
Peter Finch is a Chartered Security Professional (CSyP), Fellow of the Security Institute, and an ASIS International Certified Security Professional. He was appointed by the Secretary of State for Health as Non-Executive Director of the Board of the NHS Counter-Fraud and Security Management Service (now NHS Protect) when it was formed in 2003 and has served on the National Association of Healthcare professionals Secure By Design Group and the Strategy Implementation Group.
Recently he moved out of hospital security to become security manager at the Coventry Building Society. He’s now the President of the National Association for Healthcare Security (NAHS).
Also recognised by the panel was another Security Institute member, Stephen Green, a runner-up in the Academic Award category.
