West Yorks crime prevention roadshow

by Mark Rowe

With the Sheffield-based Business Crime Reduction Centre (BCRC) West Yorkshire Police are hosting a crime prevention roadshow to help small and medium sized businesses become more resilient against crime. The roadshow will move to business parks around the county. The roadshow begins with Bridge Mills, Huddersfield on August 27, followed by Whitwood Enterprise Park, Castleford on 1st September and Lowfields Business Park, Brighouse on September 2, with more still to be announced.

The roadshow will enable businesses to receive impartial security advice from their local Police Community Support Officer and business crime specialist and will cover the latest crimes affecting businesses in their area including cybercrime and fraud scams.

BCRC’s West Yorkshire team leader, Carl Lovett said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for the business community in West Yorkshire to learn about the best techniques to protect their business against crime. It also gives people the chance to ask the questions which are important to them and have them answered by an expert in business crime. Prevention is always better than cure for many types of crime and BCRC aims to promote this mind set across the business community.”

BCRC’s Business Advisers can also attend businesses to do on-site security surveys on physical and cyber security as well as providing a bespoke business security report with recommendations. View BCRC’s animation at www.bcrc-uk.org/aboutus.
