Men and women of the security company Corps Security have been collecting money around the country for the Royal British Legion this year. Wearing the ‘full shout’ uniform of the Corps of Commissionaires, some of the staff are seen here collecting outside Farringdon station, down the road from the company’s London head offices in Cowcross Street.
The Corps of Commissionaires was founded in 1859 as a way to provide employment for ex-servicemen returning from the Crimean War. Now, over 55pc of its workforce is ex-military so the company still has a strong allegiance to the armed forces.
CEO, Peter Webster says: “We are always pleased to do as much as we can at this time of year to remember those we have lost and to help those who have served or are currently serving their country.”
