Passport to Good Security

by Mark Rowe

The official Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure (CPNI) has launched a passport-style publication on organisational security. CPNI says that it’s aimed at board members and senior executives. CPNI is the UK government authority that provides protective security advice to the UK’s essential services – the national infrastructure.

The Passport to Good Security for Senior Executives outlines 20 headline principles for a more secure organisation. It emphasises the importance of deploying an integrated range of protective security measures, encompassing physical, personnel and cyber security. The Passport provides anyone with senior level responsibility for security with concise pointers to best practice, which can help in the creation of an effective risk management strategy.

The Passport is available on the CPNI website. The online version is aimed at security managers and others with more general responsibility for security matters. It provides more detailed information and links to relevant guidance from CPNI and partners on protective security.
