Battersea Power Station contract

by Mark Rowe

Incentive Lynx Security, part of the Incentive FM Group, is to deliver a range of security services, during the redevelopment of Battersea Power Station in south London. The security contractor’s remit includes the provision of a 31-strong team responsible for security management, manned guarding and CCTV monitoring at the 42-acre site as it undergoes a £9 billion refurb.

Battersea Power Station was built in the 1930s and ceased generating electricity in 1983. The regenerated 40 acre site beside the River Thames will house shops, cafes, restaurants, art and leisure facilities, office space and residential homes. Incentive Lynx says that it will be responsible for ensuring there is a safe environment as the development grows while maintaining customer service and promoting engagement with the local community.

Craig Pickard, Managing Director at Incentive Lynx, said: “We handle security at several multi-use, growing and complex locations and so we understand the challenges involved. We will be working closely with the community, looking to the Battersea area for recruitment and procurement needs, to support the Development’s commitment to local engagement.”
