Pledge to women’s empowerment

by Mark Rowe

Ahead of International Women’s Day on March 8, the Bradford-based Kings Secure Technologies (KST) says that it’s looking to change the landscape of the security industry – often considered stereotypically male – to make it more attractive to female workers, who might otherwise find it off-putting.

There has been much written about gender pay gaps over the years, but other issues affect women’s role in the workplace, the firm says. Gender equality and women’s empowerment are essential for achieving an inclusive and sustainable workforce, the company adds. Kings says that it’s committed to take action against inequality in the workforce and celebrate women’s achievements, to:

– Build a gender-balanced organisation with a focus on management;
– Promote safety for women where it operates;
– Enhance access to training and promote skills for women across the value chain;
– Continue the dialogue around empowering women within its workforce; and
– Follow up on commitments to women.

Bob Forsyth, CEO of the Kings Secure Technologies group of companies said: “We are proud to make this pledge to women’s empowerment and corporate responsibility. This commitment will help us make a lasting impact on the Security sector and build a sustainable company that takes diversity, equality and inclusion seriously.”
