ST22 Manchester on Tuesday

by Mark Rowe

Manchester city centre is the next stop for the Security TWENTY 22 events, run by Professional Security magazine. ST22 Manchester’s doors open around 8.30am on Tuesday, July 12, at the Kimpton Clocktower Hotel. That’s over the road from Oxford Road rail station. It’s free to attend; we only ask that you register beforehand, online, to help us gauge numbers for catering purposes.

Because we take care to feed and water our visitors; from bacon butties and tea for the early arrivals (and if you want one of those butties, you had better be there in good time, because they do get snapped up!?), to mid-morning tea and the hot buffet lunch.

The exhibition space is fully sold, so you can expect a range of exhibitors to walk around and quiz; and as ever ST is a time and place for networking. The conference will open around 10am and run until lunch. Our speakers are someone making a return appearance – Alan Cain, of Greater Manchester NHS Shared Services; the cyber security awareness trainer Ellie Hurst of the consultancy Advent IM, and Darrell Gilmour of the training body Skills for Security. Plus you can hear manufacturer updates from Seagate, BT and Hikvision.

Alan Cain should need no introduction as he’s featured in the magazine in his days as security manager at the University of Leeds; having crossed the Pennines and into healthcare he now works in resilience planning. His page on the relation between emergency planning and response, and security management, ran in the September 2021 edition of the magazine.

You’re welcome to attend, whatever your background or interest in security, whether as installer, manager, consultant or specifier, in whatever field or sector. Your contact is Liz Lloyd; email [email protected] or ring her on: +44 (0)7970 271 786. Doors to the event close around 3pm.

The next stop after for ST is Ireland; the double-header of Belfast and Dublin on Tuesday and Thursday, September 6 and 8. Then we round off for the year as ever in London, on November 3 at Heathrow.
