Control room for UK wind farms

by Mark Rowe

The control room video wall company eyevis UK reports winning a contract to supply 24/7 monitoring and security technology for UK wind farm energy generators.

The installation will cover hundreds of onshore wind turbines across the north of Scotland and work is due to start in the next couple of months. The control room will also involve an integrated mobile phone camera application, which allows engineers on site to transmit data and photographs to the video walls.

eyevis UK will be supplying, for one of the major providers of green energy for major UK utilities and independent power providers, video walls comprising of eyevis 55-inch narrow bezel industrial LCDs with eyevis Netpix 4900 video wall controllers, with Eyecon control software including an alarm management module.

eyevis UK managing director Steve Murphy, pictured, said: “Video walls which provide an efficient and easy to maintain service 24/7 play an integral part in ensuring the green energy supplied by wind turbines is a reliable and secure source of alternative energy and we are delighted to be a part of this project.”
