Pictured is St Patrick’s House in Cardiff, the city’s tallest office building. It recently saw a multi-million pound refurbishment, which included a six figure contract to replace and upgrade the fire and security systems around the building, including all cabling.
Working with the Abergavenny-based installer Select Security Specialists over six months, security product distributor Oprema supplied an access control system, intruder alarms, IP CCTV and a digital fire alarm system. That included an integration between Paxton’s Net2 access control system and Dahua IP CCTV, which means if someone forces a door or tries to enter a restricted area, a CCTV image is flagged and raises an alert to the security guard on duty. Readers were installed on the lift, allowing users to access only certain floors. The fire system has an electronics touch screen terminal as the user interface. This fits in with the fresh, modern design of the building allowing maps and floor plans for an intuitive customer interface.
Paxton’s Net2 software is adjusted over the network.
