At the Security Institute, four of its members have been appointed into key director roles on the institute board.

David Rubens CSyP FSyl has been appointed new Director of International Development. David has been a member of the institute since 2006. His 20 year involvement in the UK security industry has seen him in the fields of training, operational management, policy development, and academic study and teaching. Most recently he has been driving the team of Institute members that has been updating the course content for the instituteโ€™s Certificate in Security Management BTEC Level 3 qualification, including the introduction of new subjects being launched in September.

Mike Gillespie MSyl, will be the instituteโ€™s new Director of Cyber Research and Security. Mike has been an active member and speaker since he joined the Institute in 2008, having spoken at the Institute regional event in Leicester earlier this year. Building up a steadfast career in the security industry, as well as being MD of his own independent, holistic consultancy, Mike will fully embrace the role by bringing his expertise in the latest information management and cyberliability legislation.

Chris Northy-Baker CSyP FSyI becomes the new Director of Risk, Governance and Ethics. Chris was previously a member of the International Institute of Security before it merged with the Security Institute in 2008. Currently Head of Security at The London Clinic, Chris has a proven track record for addressing complex issues and designing and delivering cost effective business solutions for key organisations. He works with Angus Darroch-Warren as a Stage 1 Assessor for the Register of Chartered Security Professionals.

And Angus Darroch-Warren BA (Hons) MSc CSyP FSyI has been appointed as Director of the new Knowledge Centre, which launched at the end of July. Angus will head the Centre, which is the Instituteโ€™s indispensable online information resource. Angus became a member of the institute in 2006 and a fellow in 2009. He is a senior consultant with Linx International Ltd and supports the Instituteโ€™s Validation Board providing clarity on security qualifications and relevance to the security sector as part of the new member joining process.

Security Institute Chairman Emma Shaw, pictured, said: โ€œI am delighted to welcome all four Directors to the Security Institute board. Each Director brings with them a legacy of expertise, knowledge, and passion from within the heart of the security sector which will bring benefits to all members.โ€
