ASIS International, the US-based security management body, will hold its 23rd annual conference on global terrorism at the Ritz Carlton in Pentagon City, Arlington, Virginia, on March 14 to 16, 2005.
The ASIS Global Terrorism, Political Instability, and International Crime Council sponsors the event. The association says that even in the wake of 9/11 there are few direct and robust channels of communication for (US) government agencies and the private sector to exchange information about terrorist threats. Confusion and misinterpretation among (US) government agencies is still rife, and little information is disseminated to the private sector. Thus, the conference’s primary focus centres on opening these essential channels of communication between the private sector and (US) government agencies.
