Art Protection

by msecadm4921

At IFSEC 2009 are components for burglar and intrusion alarm systems as well as art security – by SCHMEISSNER GmbH Safety and Communication Equipment from Thuringia on its stand in Hall 5, Stand I50.

The MAGS 2 for up to four windows completes the German firm’s range of active glass breakage alarm systems. A refined frequency adjustment is a new feature. During calibration after installation, the system now chooses the best transmission frequency for detecting glass breakage and manipulation of windows and doors.

The alarm, which is microprocessor-controlled, monitors and analyses not only these alarm criteria but also other ambient parameters including environmental factors, such as temperature and humidity. Another new feature is that the alarm system provides interfaces for integration into the standard commercial databus systems (LSN, BUS-2, BUS-1, …). The modular concept makes sense for users in terms of economic operation, according to the firm. It is possible to start with the installation of the basic option for up to two windows. If another two monitoring points have to be connected to the evaluation unit later, a supplementary module merely needs to be added.

The MAGS S, a further member of the active sensor family recently passed the BRE/LPCB certification procedures and is listed by CPNI for public and governmental installations. Also certified and listed is the magnetic contact MS(A)-LZS especially protected against influences from external magnetic fields.

In the range of safety equipment for valuable artistic items in museums, churches, galleries and private collections, the company would like to draw attention to the WOSS system.

The Picture Sensor PS Battery (PS-B) included in the range triggers a local alarm. The stand-alone variant can be supplemented, as an option, by a radio contact (PS-F), allowing a mobile wireless monitoring and alarm system to be configured without any problems. Show case alarms VM-1, VM-3, which react, through a range of sensors, to vibration, movement and opening, the RSI guard system based on capacitive sensors for monitoring, and the SPI family with which infrared light curtains up to 40 m long can be geometrically limited and installed parallel to walls complete the range in this business sector.

The Hermsdorf-based company uses a quality management system certified under DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 and has been confirmed as a production plant for VdS-quality products by VdS Schadenverhütung GmbH (VdS) in accordance with the requirements of VdS 2344.
