A new automatic mini-barrier designed to reserve parking places, deter vehicle theft, or even control access to private property has been launched by gate and barrier automation specialist BPT Automation. Privapark is a cast aluminium arched barrier that can be installed directly onto the road surface. A portable press button remote control unit allows the Privapark to be operated from the user?s car by pressing the button to lower the arch to the ground and pressing again to raise the arch back into position. The Privapark is fixed to the ground using a strong epoxy resin adhesive; no electrical supply or special tools are needed. The barrier is powered by a 12V battery system that lasts for up to six months. To indicate when the battery is low the barrier takes two movements to complete its cycle, instead of one.
