Belfast Access

by msecadm4921

Negative air pressure and high usage patterns at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast led to an eight-month, on-site trial by MB Architectural’s access control division.

As part of the multi-million pound redevelopment of the hospital, nearly 200 doors throughout the hospital were identified as requiring automatic swing door operators. MB Architectural Access Control Manager Neil McSherry said: “Because the operating requirements were so demanding, we had to be absolutely certain that the automatic swing door operators we chose were up to the task. Abloy Security’s operators demonstrated their durability and reliability during the trial and those installed for the test are still in place and working on the hospital’s busiest doors.” The access product manufacturer reports that ABLOY door closers have been used at the Royal Victoria since the early 1990s. Abloy Security’s Jamie Maclean added: “Being entrusted to provide door automation solutions for such a high profile project demonstrates the high regard Abloy Security has among professionals responsible for security and safety.”
