BPT Security Systems (UK) Ltd, of Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, has had its System 200 door entry and Impro64+ access control system installed into Devonshire Court.
It’s a luxury residential development overlooking the sea at Eastbourne.
Devonshire Court – a Berkeley Homes (Southern) Ltd development – has apartments and penthouses. BPT Security report that their equipment was specified and installed by MR Security.
MR Security fitted BPT’s System 200 door entry system across the four blocks that make up Devonshire Court, using BPT Vandal Resistant Digital Door Entry Panels (manufactured from 2.5mm thick stainless steel) on the entrances and white video Nova monitors in the apartments. The smallest colour door entry system monitor available, the Nova has a sleek, minimalist design, it is claimed, is compact in size and can be flush mounted into a wall. What’s more, its hands-free operation for communication and push buttons with symbols indicating usage make the Nova monitor very easy to use for residents, it is claimed.
Integrated with the door entry system is the BPT Impro64+ proximity access control system. The Impro64+ accommodates up to 3,000 doors and 160,000 users per site and up to 256 sites per system. The readers were fitted into the BPT entry panels on the internal lobby doors and the doors leading from three of the blocks to the courtyard, as an added security measure and for convenience for residents. The equipment has also been integrated by MR Security with the fire detection. If the detectors alarm, the fire detection system activates the access control system to release the doors for evacuation purposes.
What they say
Jamie Clough-Murray, the Senior Engineer for MR Security on this installation, says: "BPT’s technical side is second to none. Roger Crawford, Technical Manager – what he doesn’t know isn’t worth knowing! I’ve used lots of company’s technical help lines but they don’t compare to BPT.”
