Brighton Event

The third Annual Safer Communities Conference will look at the immediate issues facing the local authority community safety world, not least say organisers the significant reduction in public sector spending announced in the new government’s budget.

It runs on October 12 and 13 at the Thistle Hotel, Kings Road, Brighton, BN1 2GS.

Community safety speakers at the two-day Local Government Association event include –

Stuart Douglass, Safer Communities Manager, Sunderland City Council, Frances Hughes, Executive Head Community Safety, Torbay Council and Gordon Falconer, Senior Manager, Surrey Community Safety Unit,
Surrey County Council; and Georgina Holland, Community Safety Manager,Arun District Council.

Also invited to speak on police reform and accountability is Sir Hugh Orde, OBE QPM, pictured, the former Northern Ireland police chief now President, Association of Chief Police Officers. For details visit –
