Casino Goes Digital

by msecadm4921

A Swedish casino has gone over to digital CCTV recording.

Casino Cosmopol AB has implemented the NiceVision Pro digital video recording products at its Sundsvall and Malmo casinos. The NiceVision Pro digital video platform records hundreds of cameras deployed throughout the two facilities and is integrated with a Pacom access control system. Per-Erik Sjostrom, Sundsvall Casino?s manager of security, says: ?We run world-class gaming facilities and our goal is to provide world-class service. The NiceVision Pro system will help us to do just that. Many of our regular clients gamble on more than one table and we can use our ability to retrieve video images quickly to credit their accounts when they forget to collect their winnings. We can also monitor live action and retrieve stored images to resolve disputes quickly when it is unclear who placed a bet, or the exact number where a bet was placed. In addition, we can expect to realise a quick return on our investment by using the recorded images to protect the casino against false claims of theft and property damage.? Casino Cosmopol looked at several digital video recorders before selecting NiceVision Pro. Mr Sjostrom said: ?We selected NiceVision because the full motion high quality digital images, ease of use and quick access to recorded images will double the productivity of our investigators. This efficiency represents a cost savings for us, and our ability to resolve disputes quickly will enhance our reputation for being a fair casino.? Yochai HaCohen, director of sales for VIM in Europe, said: ?We are pleased that NiceVision Pro has the features to meet the high demands of the casino marketplace. With our recently announced addition of content analysis algorithms we will soon be able to include other important capabilities in the future such as face recognition to further improve our ability to protect the personal safety and assets of our customers.? Bell Group?s Swedish business, Bell Security (Svenska) AB, was chosen to install and service the installations. Bell Group and NICE Systems operate under an international distribution agreement.
