The Guinness Estate in Chelsea turned to CCTV to combat anti-social behaviour.
The Guinness Trust has more than 17,000 properties, making it one of the UK?s largest housing associations. The Guinness Estate in Chelsea is one of the trust?s best known estates. The trust turned to CCTV to combat anti-social behaviour. North London based installers The Closed Circuit Television Company used Philips equipment supplied by S & I Industrial, also of North London. Graham Chweidan of The CCTV Company says: ?When the Guinness Trust was faced with the problem of local youths arriving at the estate on stolen motorbikes and occasionally setting fire to them, it was realised that a high-quality but unobtrusive CCTV installation was crucial. The site is now monitored constantly. The system features the Philips G3 AutoDomes, and a Philips System 4 video management system. This offers true triplex operation, simultaneous playback and live view multi-screen display. The unit benefits from a timed events feature and a custom alarm display with multiple presets. There are full duplex VCR controls with on-line statue and time-date search. Security and logistics managers at the trust are also using Philips low-light LTC500 cameras.
